British Columbia’s (Canada) PNP The British Columbia’s PNP (Provincial Nominee Program) invited 365 candidates to apply in its immigration draw for a provincial nomination certificate. It was held on 24 May 2017. Skilled workers and foreign graduates in five sub-categories who got via the SIRS (Skills Immigration Registration System) are eligible to apply for a provincial nomination certificate, which will allow them to apply to the government for permanent residency of Canada. A points-based system, the SIRS ranks and selects eligible candidates in various sub-categories. An eligible candidate registering through SIRS is assigned a points’ score, which allows that person to enter a select pool for the category in which she/he has registered. The province then issues invitations to apply (ITAs) to top-ranking candidates in regular draws conducted by it. Canadavisa.com said that the latest draw saw all five categories having a lower requirement for the minimum score needed by candidates to be eligible to receive an ITA when compared with the previous draw on 10 May.  It was the least score ever for the Express Entry BC — Skilled Worker category at 77 points. The ITA for the BC PNP is different to the ITA that is issued in a federal Express Entry draw at the federal level. This BC PNP stream is adjusted with the Express Entry system. Priority processing may be given to applications received under this stream at the provincial and federal levels. The applicants in this stream then must be eligible for one of the three Federal economic programs —  FSWC (Federal Skilled Worker Class), CEC (Canadian Experience Class) or FSTC (Federal Skilled Trades Class) —   to be able for entry into the federal Express Entry pool. People who have a provincial nomination certificate from BC in the Express Entry pool will receive 600 points under the CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System), implying that they will receive ITAs in a later Express Entry draw.
