British Columbia Invites 87 to Apply for BC PNP Nomination

Canada’s British Columbia province has held another round of invitations under the provincial nomination route to permanent residence. On November 16, 2021, British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) invited 87 candidates to apply for being nominated by BC PNP for Canada PR. As this was a BC PNP Tech draw, the invitations went out to –

• Tech candidates,
• Under any of the 29 key occupations,
• That had registered for the Skills Immigration (SI) or Express Entry BC (EEBC) category of the BC PNP.

Both the SI and EEBC target skilled workers. The EEBC is aligned with the federal Express Entry system of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The SI category of the BC PNP, on the other hand, runs independently.

BC PNP Tech, a fast-tracked, permanent immigration pathway for international students and in-demand foreign workers. To be eligible for BC PNP Tech, the skilled worker must have a valid job offer under any one of the 29 eligible occupations. At least 120 days of the job offer must be remaining (at the time of the application to the BC PNP). The job offer in BC must be for at least 365 days in duration.

Generally, the standard processing time for BC PNP applications is within 3 months of receipt. BC PNP Tech applications are processed much faster. With the latest round of invitations, British Columbia has invited a total of 10,515 so far in 2021 to apply for a BC PNP nomination for Canada PR.
