British Columbia in Canada has opened the Immigration Tech Pilot program as a part of the Provincial Nominee Program British Columbia, one of the Canada PNPs. Through the Immigration Tech Pilot program, eligible immigrants with a job offer in one of the 32 qualified jobs can be offered an invitation for the provincial nomination. This can be used to apply for the Canada PR visa, as quoted by the CIC News.
Invitations will be issued by the Provincial Nominee Program British Columbia through the Immigration Tech Pilot program on a weekly basis. It will be offered to registered candidates in the PNP BC system. The non-tech immigrant candidates will continue to receive invitations through its other initiatives for immigration.
Candidates who receive an invitation through the Immigration Tech Pilot program will benefit from fast-track processing under the PNP BC system.
Applicants need an indefinite full-time job offer from a qualified employer in British Columbia. PNP BC offers diverse categories for applicants through its registration system. It depends on their level of education, work experience, and job.
After an applicant has chosen the category he/she can register for free online and receive a score for registration. Depending on the processing capacity PNP BC will hold weekly tech draws offering an invitation to highest scoring tech sector candidates. After receiving the invitation, the candidates have a time of one month from the date of receiving the invitation to furnish a complete application online. The government fee for the application is 700 dollars.
British Columbia has stated that tech applications will be processed on a priority basis. Upon approval, the applicant is offered a nomination that can be used for applying for Canada PR.
