The UNWTO (United Nations World Tourism Organization) hailed the decision of Belarus to launch visa-free travel for citizens of 80 countries.
Taleb Rifai, UNWTO Secretary General, stated this when he was receiving credentials from Pavel Latushko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to France.
Belarus Telegraph Agency learned about this from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ press service.
Meanwhile, praising the efforts of the government of the Republic of Belarus for liberalising visa policy, Taleb Rifai stressed the importance of the country’s decision to launch recently visa-free entry for nationals of 80 countries for up to five days.
He was of the view that this move would enhance the position of the former Soviet Republic of its accommodative nature among foreign countries.
Discussed at the meet was the standing and opportunities of cooperation between Belarus and the UNWTO and the likelihood of participation of Taleb Rifai at an international branding conference, which is scheduled to be held in July 2017 in Minsk with the UNWTO’s assistance.
On this occasion, Pavel Latushko, Permanent Representative of Belarus to the UNWTO, thanked Taleb Rifai for reforming the tourism sector of Belarus with his expert counsel and technical assistance.
