Amendments expected to visa rules in US

It is being expected that stringent rules for visas would be implemented by the United States as Donald Trump took over as the country’s forty-fifth President.

Here are some proposals as quoted by the Times of India.

It would entail raising the minimum salary that an H1B visa holder should earn to $100,000, up from the present wage ranging between $61,000 and $71,000.

It would empower the US DHS (Department of Homeland Security) to scrutinise, audit and implement compliance with L-1 programme.

They would see to it that the most talented students in the US will be given priority for an H1B visa.

A clause would be deleted that lets immigration authorities gloss over intricate paperwork if applicants for an H1B visa have a master’s degree or equivalent or higher.
