In a draw held on December 5, Alberta issued 132 invitations to apply for being provincially nominated for Canadian permanent residency. Invitations sent by Alberta are also known as Notifications of Interest (NOIs).
These 132 NOIs went to those Express Entry candidates that had a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 400 and above.
The Alberta Express Entry System allows the province of Alberta to select eligible candidates from the federal Express Entry pool under the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP).

Those Express Entry candidates that are provincially nominated by provinces like Alberta get 600 additional points towards their CRS scores.
With these additional points, it is almost a guarantee that the candidate will be sent an invitation in the next draw to be held from the Express Entry pool.

As such, neither previous work experience nor job offer in Alberta is mandatory to be eligible for being invited under AINP.

How many has Alberta invited in 2019?
With the latest December 5 draw, a total of 6,752 Express Entry candidates have been sent invitations to apply for being provincially nominated for Canada PR through the Alberta Express Entry Stream.
6,000 was the limit set by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on the number of invitations that could be issued by the AINP in the 2019 calendar year.
While all the allotted certificates have been issued by the AINP, about 1,750 are awaiting their assessment for eligibility.
Assessment of the applications will continue. However, no further certificates are to be issued till January 2020.
Why is my submission taking so long to process?
Owing to the high volume of submissions, the processing of submissions for certain occupations might take comparatively much longer. These include –
