Abu Dhabi: Apply for work permit without sponsorship

Now, you can get a freelancer licence in Abu Dhabi and also sponsor your family in the UAE.

 

With the announcement of a 2-year permit by Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development [ADDED], skilled professionals in specific categories will be able to apply for a UAE work permit, without there being any requirement for a company sponsorship.

 

Proposing the best policies based on the latest research and statistical data, ADDED assists in driving growth and diversity across the different sectors in the UAE, advancing Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030.

 

Previously, the Freelancer licences were available only to UAE nationals.

 

As per the changes announced by ADDED, non-citizens can obtain Freelancer licences for practising around 48 economic activities within Abu Dhabi.

 

ADDED has made it possible for citizens, residents and non-residents living in the UAE to obtain Freelancer licences allowing them to practice around 48 economic activities.   Now, non-citizens can conduct their “business activities from their residences or any other authorized location”, in keeping with the general provisions applicable to individual organizations.

 

The resolution by ADDED will lead to the enhancement of the role played by citizens as well as non-citizens in boosting the business sector in Abu Dhabi.

 

While stimulating the investment and business environment in the UAE, the change will create additional job opportunities in certain fields.
