89, 800 Canada PRs in 2018 breaks all records so far!

A new record for Canada PRs has been set with the latest Express Entry draw held on 19 December. The minimum CRS score also was the lowest for 2018 with 439 points. 3,900 Invitations to Apply for Canada PR were offered in this latest draw.

The total in 2018 for Canada PRs is 89,800. This is the highest number of ITAs offered so far in 2018 in a single year through the system of Express Entry. The earlier record was set in 2017 with 86, 023 Canada PRs.

Qualified candidates are offered score under the Comprehensive Ranking System in Express Entry. This is based on factors like proficiency in French or English, education, age, and work experience. The score decides their position in the Express Entry. A fixed number of candidates with the highest-rank obtain ITAs through regular draws.

The latest draw is the first time in this year that the minimum CRS has lowered below 440. It is likely that this is due to the large sizes of draw maintained by the Government of Canada. It also allowed just 1 week elapsing between draws in the Express Entry pool. The period between consecutive draws is normally 2 weeks.

The rule of tie-break was utilized by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada in the latest draw. The time and date were 19.31.37 and 6 February. It means that all candidates with CRS score more than 439 received invite for Canada PRs. Also, those who scored 439 and entered profiles in the pool of Express Entry prior to 6 February at 19.31.37 UTC received ITA in this draw.
