82% of Indian travelers choose EU destinations

Indian nationals are showing more interest in visiting EU countries in this year because of new Schengen visa rules. Recent data from Policybazar shows that around 82% of Indians are willing to visit France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands. Policybazaar Product Head Manas Kapoor said that they have registered a higher percentage of Indians purchasing travel insurance policies to apply for Schengen visas.

 

Kapoor also said Indians are purchasing travel policies that exceed 45 days, which means they can plan to take multiple trips to Schengen areas.

New rules for Schengen visa

Under the new rules, Indians with Schengen visas can enter Schengen areas multiple times with a validity of two years. This new rules is not applicable for all Indians, only Indians who have obtained Schengen visas legally in the last three years will be eligible for multiple entry.

 

Indians who have received multiple-entry Schengen visas can enter the Schengen Area multiple times in the same year without applying for documents each time. Indians must still follow the 90/180-day rule, where Indians cannot stay in the Schengen area for more than three months within any six-month period.
