The United States is a leading destination for students worldwide. It offers students courses from all disciplines and gives them unprecedented opportunities to research and excel in their chosen fields.

The cost of studying abroad is a deterrent for many students who want to study abroad. But the good news is that the US has some affordable universities that offer quality education at affordable costs for undergraduate studies.

1. University of Washington

Average fees: $9,765

The University of Washington runs campuses in Seattle, Tacoma and Bothell. The school serves more than 54,000 pupils across 18 schools and colleges. UW attributes more than 12,000 degrees each year. And it's recognized for its teaching and research initiatives and its global impact. UW ranks as one of the state's least-cost four-year degrees.

2. Brooklyn College

Brooklyn College it became a part of the New York City University system in 1961. This is New York City's first public college of coeducational, liberal arts. The school enrolls more than 18,000 students in some 75 classes. Program options include industry and education. Other choices include humanities and social sciences, environmental and behavioral sciences.

3. Purdue University

Built-in 1869, this public research university located in Indiana serves 43,000 students. Purdue University administers Pharmacy, Medical, Veterinary, and Management programs. The college created Purdue Online in 2018. This acts as an interactive online course, diploma, and graduate initiative. Purdue Online makes online degrees accessible at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

4. University of Florida

Average fees: $11,313

The University of Florida is now the Sunshine State's third-largest college. It has more than 52,000 students enrolled. UF offers more than 100 majors and 200 graduate programs. UF's engineering college is focussing on growing diversity among its students. This is particularly true for underrepresented women and minorities.

5. Oklahoma State University

Average fees: $6,707

Over 35,000 students attend state universities in Oklahoma. OSU offers more than 300 undergraduate and 200 graduate programs. The school has five campus locations in total and is available online. Founded in 1890, OSU has grown into the most influential STEM-centric institution in the state. The school is also known for its programs in veterinary medicine and engineering.

6. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Average fees: $11,649

Chapel Hill College of North Carolina is the country's oldest public university. To over 19,000 students annually it offers a strong, affordable education to over 19,000 students annually. The school is classified as a "Public Ivy." It applies to when an Ivy League college program is offered by a government agency. UNC is dedicated to transparency and to affordability.

7. California State University, Long Beach

Average fees: $9,477

California State University, Long Beach enrolls over 37,000 graduate and research students. It offers online and online classes at its principal campus in Southern California. CSULB enjoys competitive tuition rates and its students have high earning potential. CSULB is a selective institution, 28 percent of applicants being accepted. Students interested in distance learning can enroll through CalStateOnline.
