66% of the fresh immigrants to Canada wanted to move to Ontario in 2017 through the Express Entry system. Ontario is generally regarded as the economic hub of Canada. This province has Ottawa the Capital of Canada as well as the largest city of Toronto.
The trends for fresh immigrants to Canada have been revealed by the 2017 yearend report of the Express Entry system. The officials have indicated that 66% of the fresh immigrants to Canada intended to reside in the Ontario province.
The Canadian provinces of Alberta and British Columbia were the third and second most popular destinations for fresh immigrants. 90% of all applicants intended to reside in any one of these 3 provinces, as quoted by the CIC News.
Ontario province continues to lead as the renowned destination for immigrants. It hosts the Toronto City that is the largest in Canada. This city has a lively economy along with flourishing communities of immigrants. The Canadian capital city and the federal government are also hosted by Ontario.
These latest statistics for trends amongst immigrants are only inclusive of applications submitted via the Express Entry system. Thus applicants via the Quebec province are not included. This is because Quebec has a separate immigration system for itself.
Immigration programs of Ontario include Ontario Express Entry and the Immigrant Nominee Program Ontario. The OINP is a program for those who possess a job offer in the province. It may also assist employers to identify the required skilled workers.
Investors or employers apply to hire or retain overseas nationals or provisional residents through the OINP. If Ontario approves the application, they will nominate that individual for Canada PR. The PR application must be submitted to IRCC.
