6 more nationalities including Indians can now obtain Vietnam E- Visa as per the latest decree revealed by the Government of Vietnam. The 6 nations that have now been added to the list are New Zealand, India, the Netherlands, Canada, the UAE and Australia.
Earlier, the Government of Vietnam had issued a decree that outlines the procedures for Vietnam E- Visa. In this decree, 40 countries were offered this facility. The nationals of these select nations could apply for Vietnam visas and make the payment of fees online.
On 1 February 2017, a 2-year E-visa on pilot basis was launched by Vietnam for 40 nations:
Venezuela, Uruguay, the US, the UK, Timor Leste, Sweden, Spain, the Republic of Korea, Slovakia, Russia, Romania, Poland, the Philippines, Peru, Panama, Norway, Myanmar, Mongolia, Luxembourg, Kazakhstan, Japan, Italy, Ireland, Hungary, Greece, Germany, France, Finland, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Cuba, Colombia, China (excluding China e-passport holder), Chile, Bulgaria, Brunei, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Argentina.
The original list of 40 nations has now been expanded to include 6 more nations that include India, as quoted by the English Vietnam NET VN. Overseas travelers are increasingly arriving in Vietnam. They are arriving for diverse purposes including visiting family and holiday. The first pre-requisite is to obtain the appropriate visa.
You will not be allowed to board the flight if you do not possess the required visa or approval letter from the Immigration Department of Vietnam. The only exemption to this is nations that enjoy a visa waiver. There are diverse ways to obtain the visa. You can get it at a Consulate of Vietnam in your nation or via a third party travel agency. You can also get a visa online for Vietnam.
