Thousands of men in the northern Indian state of Haryana have queued up for a recruitment drive that is aimed at sending skilled laborers to Israel to fill the labor shortages in the nation that has been resulted from the Gaza conflict.
An Israeli financial daily this month reported that the nation planned to hire over 70,000 foreign workers from India and other countries in order to expand its construction industry.
According to the government, approximately 13 million Indian nationals are already employed as laborers, professionals, and experts abroad.
Masons, painters, electricians, plumbers, and farmers, expressed their keen interest in working in Israel. Despite the risks, many are prepared to enter the nation in order to earn five times as much as they would back home.
The National Skills Development Corporation of India has actively engaged in laborers willing to live and work in Israel. Masons acknowledged that working in Israel has hazards but they are willing to accept them in exchange for a higher income.
They believe that they have the potential to earn over a million Indian rupees which is $12,000 in a short time.
