In 2017 the intake of immigrants through Canada FSW stream increased by 400%. This has been revealed by the latest Express Entry report. IRCC has released the year-end report of the performance of Express entry system in 2017.
The latest report elaborates on the beneficiaries from the changes to the manner in allotment of points to the candidates in the economic immigration system. These are candidates in Canada FSW stream or Federal Skilled Worker and Experience Class Canada (CEC).
41, 364 ITAs for Canada PR were offered to candidates in the Canada FSW stream in 2017. This was an increase of 400% over the 8, 332 ITAs offered in 2016, as quoted by the CIC News.
On the other hand, 35, 020 ITAs were offered to Candidates in the CEC category. In 2016 the number of ITAs offered in this stream was 15, 102.
The faster processing times also benefited the candidates in the Canada FSW stream. In 2017, almost 80% of the applications in this category were finalized within 4 months or lesser. In 2016 the applications were processed within 6 months or lesser.
2017 was the biggest year to date for express Entry with 86, 023 ITAs being offered. This figure dwarfs the joint totals of 2015 and 2016 that offered 31, 063 and 33, 782 ITAs respectively. The lowest CRS threshold score so far was also witnessed in 2017 on 31 May with 413.
The Express Entry is now the chief source for Canada PR applications through economic immigration streams for achieving the multi-year immigration intake plans of IRCC. In 2017, 93, 596 Canada visas were offered, 109, 497 applications were processed and 86, 022 ITAs for Canada PR were offered.
