2017 winter has witnessed 27% hike in holiday travel queries with honeymoon and luxury overseas destinations on top of the Google searches. Many individuals are also looking for safari destinations revealed Google.
Bali, Maldives, and Seychelles are the top searches for overseas honeymoon destinations in this season. There has been an increase of 40% in the queries for this category. Google India has also revealed the top trends for travel for the period September to November.
Domestic as well as luxury overseas destinations were searched more by 34%. The online hunts for royal vacations increased 12 times when compared with 2016, as quoted by the New Indian Express.
The search for warmer destinations and related activities was enhanced during the winters. The explorations for safari destinations witnessed an increase of 32%. Other overseas destinations that were highly searched include Dubai’s Desert Safari, Singapore’s Night Safari, Bali’s Marine Park and Safari, and Bangkok’s Safari World.
The searches for overseas destinations such as the Vatican increased by nearly 8 times. It was followed with Myanmar with 3 times increase, and Hungary with 2 times increase. The most searched terms for these places include ‘what to view at the museum at the Vatican’, ‘after-hours Sistine Chapel private tours’, ‘things to do in Budapest’, and ‘Burma tourist map’.
Dubai remains the most searched destination when it comes to trends for overseas travel. It was followed by Bangkok at the second place, Thailand at the third place and US Disneyland at the fourth place.
Activities such as safaris and overseas cricket as an overseas vacation witnessed a hike of 456%. This was owing to matches held in the UK and Australia. For domestic travelers, the top searched destination was Kerala.
