ITAs to 2, 750 applicants for Canada Permanent Residency have been offered by IRCC on 15 November Express entry draw. The lowest ranked candidate who received the ITA in this draw had a CRS core of 439.
The CRS cut-off of 439 was lesser than 19 points when compared to the last draw. The last draw held by IRCC had Comprehensive Ranking System point’s threshold as 458. In the latest draw, all candidates who scored above 439 received the ITA for Canada Permanent Residency.
Some of the candidates who received the ITA had a score of 439. Meanwhile, the ITCC said that a tie-breaker was also necessary. This implies that the candidates with 439 points who received ITAs had entered the pool before a specified time and date. For this round, the specific time and date were 12:02:28 UTC on 19 October 2017, as quoted by the CIC News.
The latest draw was the fourth one held in last 3 weeks. This has occurred only once before after the launch of Express entry in 2015. New 3-year targets were announced by Canada on 1 November. Increased numbers of Express entry draws imply that more ITAs will be offered. The CRS threshold will also be lowered as candidates with high scores get eliminated from the express entry pool.
Canada plans to welcome almost 1 million new PR holders between 2018 and 2020. This is as per the Immigration Levels Plan that was announced recently. Out of these, 250, 000 new immigrants will be accepted through Express entry. They will be admitted through the below 3 initiatives:
