Immigrants willing to work and stay in Portugal must apply for a residence permit in the country. Portugal offers both temporary and permanent residence permits to suit the purpose and needs of immigrants. The eligibility and other requirements vary based on the type of residence permit you choose. A temporary residence permit in Portugal allows you to stay for at least 4 months, while a permanent resident permit lets you stay, study, and work in Portugal for up to 5 years.
