The UK government has implemented new rules like increasing the minimum salary threshold from £26,200 to £38,700. The main aim of these new rules is to increase the minimum salary threshold for most skilled worker visa applicants and to stop sponsorship costs from being passed on to the workers. These new rules for the UK Skilled Worker Visa will be effective from April 9, 2025.

The government of the UK has announced that candidates who are applying for a skilled worker visa for the first time need to showcase an income of GBP 38,700 for accommodation. Candidates should also have sponsorship from an employer based in the UK. If the candidates don’t get a sponsorship, then they need to keep the necessary amount in their bank for at least 28 days.
