Updated March 31 2025

Germany launched a new Opportunity card on June 1, 2024, replacing the old Job Seeker visa. This card is also known as ‘Chancenkarte’. Foreign nationals are allowed to migrate to Germany and search for a suitable job for one year. Candidates are examined using a mixed-criteria point system. You need at least 6 points to qualify for this one-year residence permit. The main aim of launching this card is to address the labor shortage in major sectors like IT, engineering, and healthcare.
