Recently, VETASSESS has announced that it would be “changing some of our fees for skills assessment services for General Professional Occupations.”

Authorised by the Australian government, VETASSESS is Australia’s largest skills assessment provider. VETASSESS evaluates the qualifications as well as work experience of prospective migrants.

There are 42 different skills assessing authorities recognized by the Australian government. A skills assessing authority is an organization that checks whether the skills that the individual possesses are up to the standards required for working in a relevant occupation.

Generally, an occupation will have its own skills assessing authority.

Australia’ Department of Home Affairs [DHA] will only accept a skills assessment if issued by the relevant assessing authority.

The individual will be responsible for getting their skills assessment, if required.

While obtaining a suitable skills assessment is mandatory for certain Australian visas, an assessment might be requested for other visa subclasses.
