New Zealand has renewed its immigration plans by inviting migrants to the areas of massive skills mismatch in the country. The country is specifically looking forward to welcoming Indians who will contribute to the development of these areas instead of pressurizing the already densely populated areas of the country. This was announced by New Zealand Indian Central Association president Harshadbhai Patel as saying on Monday.
The city or the regional areas?
It has also been observed that it is only the job seekers who enter the city in search of great opportunities and a good social life. There many students who in regional areas such as Otago and Rotorua and can be considered to have the potential to be a part of this scheme. The above opinion is held by Mr. Patel.
On the other hand the Prime Minister of New Zealand, Mr. John Key hopes to improve the economic, cultural and business links of the country through the adoption of the new measures mentioned above. With this he hopes to bring about cordial environment and facilitate good skill, labour and capital. Like any other move of a government, this is not without criticism.
Is it good enough?
The criticism levelled against this idea of the government of New Zealand is that, they should first create more economic opportunities before they can invite other nationals to come to their country and contribute to their social and economic development.
