Thailand E-Visa

The new Thailand E-Visa on arrival is now being offered to Indians from 14 February 20919. The latest service is being offered to overseas tourists from select 20 nations. This includes travellers from India as well.

Immigration Bureau of Thailand has partnered with VFS Global to offer the new Thailand E-Visa on arrival to tourists.

The overseas travellers who are eligible will be able to apply for their Thailand E-Visa online. They will receive the authorization for travel within 3 days, as quoted by the Times of India.

The new process requires the applicants to fill a digital form. They can make the payment at any time irrespective of the working hours of the Embassy.

Upon arrival at the airport in Thailand, all they will have to do is offer their passport at the airline counter. The overseas tourists will then be offered the E-Visa immediately there itself. It must be noted that the new policy is only applicable to Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi airports at Bangkok. This is in addition to Chiang Mai and Phuket airports.

The 20 nations that are now eligible for the new system are:

Taiwan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Saudi Arabia, San Marino, Romania, Papua New Guinea, Mauritius, Malta, Maldives, Latvia, Kazakhstan, India, Fiji, Ethiopia, Cyprus, China, Bulgaria, Bhutan, and  Andorra.

The documents required for the new Thailand E-Visa are:

  • Travel document or passport that has a minimum validity of 6 months
  • Completely filled E-Visa application form
  • One latest photograph of the applicant with dimensions 4 cm x 5 cm
  • Return air travel ticket or E-ticket
  • Evidence of adequate monetary funds

Overseas tourists are permitted to arrive in Thailand for sight-seeing, leisure, and personal enlightenment. They are not permitted to conduct business or work in Thailand.

Tourists will need a Thailand Tourist Visa for staying in the nation for 15 or 30 days. This is while undertaking their excursions and exploration in Thailand.
