The United Kingdom’s Kuwait Embassy has issued several instructions for Kuwaitis to follow while visiting Britain.
Arab Times quotes the Kuwait Embassy on 3 July as saying that visitors from the west Asian country should commit to the type of visa issued by the UK Embassy in Kuwait. It has recently come to light that some Kuwaiti citizens have entered Britain with a tourist visa, but availed it for medical care, transgressing the host country’s laws in the process.
It also asked Kuwaiti citizens to carry round-trip tickets as the authorities in the UK have deported citizens of Kuwait for possessing only one-way tickets. The Embassy has asked them to maintain their passports in a good condition always and to immediately report at the Embassy or at a police station if they lose their passport. Another piece of advice it had for Kuwaitis was to carry their ID cards and driver’s license in person while in Britain.
For those travelling for medical care, the Kuwait Embassy suggested that the people accompanying the patients must be cautious while withdrawing money from ATMs. It has also advised them to keep the Health Office informed two weeks ahead of the patient’s visa’s expiry date so that the issue can be looked into.
