A Subclass 462 visa allows Indians to stay and work in Australia for one year. The Australian government recently added India to the list of countries and allotted 1000 visa slots.

 

Indian citizen’s aged 18-30 years are eligible for the visa application process for a Subclass 462 visa. Subclass 462 visas allow working foreign nationals from India to visit Australia for one year, enabling them to work or study short-term while enjoying their holiday. During this time, they can work across different sectors, study for up to four months, and leave and re-enter the country multiple times.

Types of Subclass 462 visa for Indians

There are three types of Subclass 462 visas that an Indian can apply for:

 

First Work and Holiday visa: The first Work and Holiday visa allows an applicant (aged 18-30) to enjoy an extended Holiday and work in Australia to help fund their expedition.

 

Second Work and Holiday visa: The second Work and Holiday visa allows an applicant aged (18-30) to be a holder of a second-holiday visa (either currently holding or being a visa holder) to enjoy the benefits of this visa again

 

Third Work and Holiday visa: The Third Work and Holiday visa allows an applicant (18-30) who holds or currently holds a Second Work and Holiday visa to have a Third Work and Holiday visa in Australia.

 

Eligibility Criteria to apply for a Subclass 462 visa

Below are the eligibility criteria for Indians that must be fulfilled to apply for a Subclass 462 visa:

 

  • Be an Indian citizen
  • Aged between 18-30 years
  • Must meet the conditions of the Subclass 462 work visa
  • Applicant must reside outside Australia
  • Minimum two years of diploma, university degrees and other graduate certificate
  • Family members cannot be included in this program

 

Requirements to apply for Subclass 462 visa

Below are the requirements for Indians that must be fulfilled to apply for a Subclass 462 visa:

 

  • Proof of English language is not mandatory if:
  • Completed a relevant approved English Language test or assessment (minimum score of 4.5 in average band)
  • Have completed relevant education: All Primary years in English and at least three years in English
  • Proof of sufficient funds
  • Health insurance
  • Police verification
  • Pay your debts to the Australian government (if any)
  • Sign the Australian value statement
  • A letter of support
