The process for Canada Student Visa has now been made faster for Indians as well as students from 3 more nations. Indian students are increasingly choosing to Study Overseas in Canada. The new program reduces the processing times for Canada Student Visas for Indians to 45 days from the earlier 60 days.
Canada has launched the fresh Student Direct Stream for students from India, Philippines, Vietnam, and China. They must upfront demonstrate that they possess the necessary language skills and financial resources. This is for succeeding academically in Canada, as quoted by the Times of India.
The newly launched program Student Direct Stream is available to students who choose to study college education at all DLIs in Canada. This has been revealed by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
IRCC has said that the SDS program harmonizes with the Express Entry System. This is because these students will be well-positioned on the path to Canada PR upon completion of their studies in Canada.
The Express Entry program for Canada PR is based on points. Education obtained in Canada helps to obtain additional points. 15 extra points are offered to applicants who have obtained 1 to 2 years post-secondary/college education in Canada. They are offered 30 extra points if the duration of the course is 3 or more years.
Indian students thus now have a faster process of Canada Student Visa in the form of Student Direct Stream. The industry observers have said that there are select courses that are more popular with Indian students. These include Hospitality, Medicine, Software Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Business Management.
Owing to the enhanced protectionism in the UK and the US, Indians students are now increasingly opting to Study in Canada.
