KOLKATA: Indian professionals view salary as the most important factor when choosing a job followed by job security, office atmosphere and the work-life balance in the company, says a latest study. The study by the leading HR firm Ma Foi Randstad finds out professionals in India choose a company in a different way than their global counterparts. Globally, older professionals prefer companies that are recognised for their good quality of product and service, whereas the younger professionals are more attracted to innovative companies that offer interesting jobs and pleasant working atmosphere. In India, male professionals prefer strong and financially stable companies with high quality products and services, while female professionals consider the job location, atmosphere and job content while choosing the job. The study highlights the most attractive sectors in India are IT and BPO, followed by energy, consulting, consumer goods and retail, travel and hospitality, auto, banking and financial services, telecom, engineering and infrastructure. Professionals rate the IT and BPO sector in the top position for future prospects, atmosphere, job content, training and salary. Whereas, the energy sector leads due to high job security, and the attractiveness of consulting jobs lies in high salary and interesting job content. Indian professionals tend to give more importance to financial stability and strong management practices as they grow old, whereas the desire for good training and international career opportunities decreases with age. Job security is particularly important for professionals between the age of 25 to 45 years. The importance of high salary is significant amongst freshers and employees who are closer to retirement. 12 July 2011 http://articles.economictimes.indiatimes.com/2011-07-12/news/29765547_1_indian-professionals-job-security-ma-foi-randstad For more news and updates, assistance with your visa needs or for a Free Assessment of your profile for Immigration or Work Visa’s just visit www.y-axis.com
