British Airways has teamed up with other partners to provide special offers and attractive discounts to students bound for foreign universities.
British Airways announced its annual promotional offer for outbound university students travelling to the UK, US, Canada and select European destinations. This initiative allows students flying with British Airways between 01 June and 15 November 2011 to carry an extra piece of luggage weighing up to 23kgs in addition to the permitted checked in allowance.
Furthermore, British Airways has teamed up with partners to provide special offers and attractive discounts to students bound for foreign universities. These include:
VIP Bags: 15% off on a purchase over Rs. 4,000
Matrix SIM card: Up to 255 minutes of free call back from UK and first 50 minutes of free call back from the US
Croma: Attractive offers on laptops, cameras and iPods
ICICI Travel Cards: Discounts on foreign exchange and waivers on joining and loading fees.
Speaking on the initiative, Judy Jarvis, British Airways, Regional Commercial Manager, South Asia said, “This initiative was very well-received last year, and we’re delighted to be able to offer it again. We recognise that students are going overseas for a long period, and will require extra luggage when they travel. We want to make it as easy as possible for them. In addition to this offer, we have partnered with some key groups to provide exciting initiatives to help students save even more as they prepare to enter college. British Airways is committed to providing exclusive assistance to students traveling abroad to further their education.”
The offer is valid for students holding a valid student visa to the UK, Europe, USA or Canada only. The outbound travel must be completed on or before 15 November 2011, originating in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad or Chennai. Any dependents accompanying the student can also benefit from the free excess baggage and this offer is valid for travel in any cabin. In the case of a return trip, the excess baggage is only valid one way, on the outbound half of the journey. To avail the special partner offers, students would need to present their British Airways ticket and student ID card at the respective retail stores.
