India is one of the top five nations in the world with the maximum number of Schengen visa applications last year. According to statistics released recently by the European Commission, India ranks fourth on the list for Schengen visas.

According to the Schengen Visa website, India ranked at the fourth spot last year with around 9,20,699 applications. India was one of the nations that had the maximum number of Schengen visa applicants. The first three countries with maximum Schengen visa applications were Russia, China and Turkey.
As per The Hindu, with 1.79 lakh Schengen visas, France has become the most in-demand nations for most Indians. Germany remains in the number two spot for being the next favourite amongst Indians.
The very first step to apply for a Schengen visa is to fill the online application and then take out a print out. When applying for the visa, make sure you have all the required documents in place, otherwise, the process will remain incomplete.
The applicant is supposed to submit all the necessary documents, along with the filled form to the Embassy or Consular office of the country. It takes about 15 to 30 days for a Schengen visa to arrive.
