Quebec

The Quebec government was able to attract a sizeable number of rich immigrants in 2015.The only province in Canada that has autonomy to choose its own immigrants, it received over 5,000 people under the Quebec Immigrant Investor Program last year. This was a 40 percent increase over the year before when 3,669 people arrived in the province. It expects to admit the same number of immigrants in 2016 as well, as per Quebec’s immigration plan, which was recently proposed in the Quebec National Assembly.

Though Quebec is said to have preference for French speakers, its government was quoted by the Vancouver Sun as saying that this year 89 per cent of its investor immigrants would be Asians.

According to a Vancouver immigration lawyer Richard Kurland, the net cost of the Quebec investor programme is around C$125,000. Foreign nationals, who invest this sum, are allowed into the province even if they do not speak English or French fluently.

As John McCallum, Federal Immigration Minister, is also reported to have said that he would not disturb Quebec’s immigration policy, migrants would continue to make a beeline to this province.

If you want to invest in Canada and become permanent resident there, Quebec is a place you can zero in on as it provides a lot of incentives. Come to Y-Axis for assistance and guidance to file for a visa in Quebec’s investor programme.
