Under point-based immigration the immigrant must select an occupation that is listed in Australia’s Occupational Demand List. This list mentions occupations that face a skill shortage in the country. Every occupation in the list has its own skill assessing authority. Trade occupations are assessed by the TRA (Trade Recognition Australia) or the VETASSESS (Vocational Educational and Training Assessment Services) The Institute of Managers and Leaders (IML), through its entity IML National, is an assessing authority approved by the Department of Home Affairs for assessing immigration candidates who have applied for senior-level managers within Australia and New Zealand.
If applicants have to move to the next stage of the visa application process, they will need to get a positive assessment of their skills from these evaluation authorities.
Applicants must meet the appropriate criteria specified by the assessing authority reviewing their occupation. To obtain a positive assessment, the candidates should have the relevant qualifications and experience.
