What is the EJU test for admission in Japanese universities?

EJU stands for Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students.

The EJU is specifically designed to check the basic academic skills of foreign students in –

  • Mathematics

About 95% of the national universities in Japan require the EJU for granting admission to foreign students.

The EJU can be taken at test centres throughout Asia. Do keep in mind, however, that a prospective student might be required to travel to Japan to appear for certain entrance tests that are specified by the institution concerned.

What are the visa requirements for study abroad in Japan?

International students planning to study in Japan for more than 3 months will have to apply for a student visa.

To be able to apply for a Japan student visa, you will be required to first secure a Certificate of Eligibility, to be applied, on your behalf, by the educational institution in Japan that you have been accepted to.

Once you have the Certificate of Eligibility, you will have to apply for your student visa through your local Japanese consulate or embassy.
