What is the difference between an Australia PR and a US H1B visa?

Australia and the US allow PR holders to reside and work anywhere in the. The visa holders can also have access to a world-class healthcare system and education. They are also considered a path to citizenship.  Despite the similarities, there is a significant difference between the Australia PR and US H1B visa.

 

Australia PR Visa

Australia has a point-based system to select the eligible candidates for issuing the PR. These points are calculated based on various elements such as age, language proficiency, education, and work experience. To apply for Australia PR, the applicant must score a minimum of 65 points on the Australia Immigration Points Grid. The applicant can choose to apply through various pathways. Some of them are:

US H1B Visa

This is a work visa issued by the US. Under this visa, people who have completed their Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree can apply. The applicant must be sponsored by their employer and is usually from a specialized field, such as IT professionals and Architects. The applicants are selected through a lottery-based system; annually, around 85,000 applicants are invited, with a reservation of 20,000 for the Master applicants.
