The 26-year-old nurse, working with a private hospital inThane city, registered a complaint with Kapurbawdi police on Tuesday, saying that Vaibhav Rajnikanth Doshi alias Dharmesh Doshi cheated her and took about Rs 8 lakhs from her while promising to facilitate a good job in Denmark through his overseas recruitment agency, senior police inspector S D Jadhav said.

Quoting the complaint of the victim, he said the woman received a message on her mobile phone about job recruitment from Yuniglow consultancy, allegedly run by the accused, in June last year.

When she contacted him, the accused assured her of providing a permanent job in Denmark, but asked her to pay the initial fees. Following his instructions, the victim paid about Rs four lakhs initially.

However, when she failed to get the job, she asked Doshi to give her a proof that his firm was not cheating her.

The accused then took her to Pune and showed her the office of his agency, following which the woman got convinced.

The accused again asked her to pay more amount. As per the victim, she had paid him Rs 8 lakhs till November 16, the police officer said.

However, later the accused did not respond to her calls following which she approached the police, Jadhav said.

Based on the complaint, a case under sections 420 (cheating) and 34 of the IPC and section 66 of Information Technology Act has been registered against Doshi, he said.

Police is also on the lookout of some accomplices of the accused, who are suspected to be involved in a racket of cheating people while promising them lucrative jobs abroad, he add
