British Columbia has issued 772 invitations to skilled immigration candidates in its latest Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) draw, held on October 29, 2026. The selection marks the province's largest Innovate: High Economic Impact invitation round of the year, with the minimum annual salary threshold dropping to CAD 99,000.

The latest BC PNP draw 2026 invited 524 candidates through wage-based selection and another 248 through points-based selection. The minimum points requirement remained at 131, while the annual salary threshold declined from CAD 105,000 in September to CAD 99,000 in October. The results highlight British Columbia's continuing focus on attracting skilled professionals who can contribute to the province's economic and labour market priorities.

British Columbia PNP Draw: October 29, 2026 Results

According to the Government of British Columbia's official WelcomeBC website, the October 29 draw targeted candidates under the Innovate: High Economic Impact selection category.

The draw results were:

Selection category

Minimum requirement

Wage-based selection

CAD 49/hour and CAD 99,000 annually, with a qualifying NOC TEER 0–3 job offer

The wage-based criteria require candidates to meet both the hourly and annual wage thresholds. Meeting a salary threshold alone does not guarantee an invitation or eligibility for provincial nomination. These invitations allow selected candidates to apply for provincial nomination. They do not represent direct permanent residence approvals.

Why Is the Latest BC PNP Draw Significant?

The October 29 selection stands out for two developments: a higher invitation count and a lower wage threshold. In the previous Innovate draw on September 24, British Columbia issued 714 invitations, including 426 through wage-based selection and 288 through points-based selection. The October draw therefore recorded an increase of 58 invitations, approximately 8.1% higher than September.

The annual salary threshold decreased by CAD 6,000, approximately 5.7%, while the hourly wage threshold fell by CAD 3. This represents a less restrictive wage threshold for the October selection. However, the province may apply different criteria in future invitation rounds.

How Have BC PNP Salary Requirements Changed in 2026?

British Columbia's high-economic-impact selections have shown considerable movement in wage thresholds throughout 2026. Earlier in February, the wage-based selection required an annual salary of CAD 145,000. By June, the threshold was CAD 125,000, before declining to CAD 105,000 in September. The October requirement of CAD 99,000 is the lowest annual wage threshold among the province's published 2026 Innovate invitation rounds through October 29.

This decline is particularly noteworthy for skilled professionals who previously fell below the higher wage requirements. However, applicants must still satisfy the relevant immigration stream requirements, including job-offer, employer and other eligibility conditions.

Who Can Benefit from British Columbia's Latest Immigration Draw?

The latest selection is particularly relevant to skilled workers with qualifying employment offers in British Columbia and candidates already registered in the BC PNP system. The wage-based selection considered job offers classified under National Occupational Classification (NOC) Training, Education, Experience and Responsibilities (TEER) categories 0, 1, 2 and 3.

These classifications broadly cover management positions, professional occupations, technical roles and certain skilled trades. Indian professionals exploring Canadian permanent residence may find the results useful when evaluating their eligibility and employment prospects in British Columbia. However, the October 29 invitations were issued to qualified candidates already registered before the draw. The results do not constitute a new open application window for all overseas applicants.

How Does the BC PNP Lead to Canadian Permanent Residence?

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program enables the province to nominate eligible workers who meet its economic and labour market needs. The process generally involves the following stages:

  1. Check eligibility: Identify the appropriate BC PNP immigration stream and verify its requirements.
  2. Register: Submit a registration where required and enter the selection pool.
  3. Receive an invitation: Eligible candidates may be invited based on provincial selection priorities.
  4. Apply for nomination: Invited candidates generally have up to 30 calendar days to submit a complete BC PNP application.
  5. Receive a nomination decision: British Columbia assesses whether the applicant meets program requirements.
  6. Apply for permanent residence: Successfully nominated candidates can submit their permanent residence applications to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Provincial nomination does not automatically grant permanent residence. IRCC makes the final decision on the federal application.

What Should Skilled Workers Do Next?

Candidates who received invitations in the October 29 draw should check their BC PNP Online profiles and review the applicable application requirements. Invited applicants should ensure their employment information, wage details, job-offer documents and supporting records are accurate before submission.

Professionals who were not invited can review their registration scores and eligibility against the province's published selection criteria. Future draws may have different wage requirements, minimum scores or occupational priorities. Therefore, applicants should not assume that the October thresholds will apply to subsequent selections.
