What are the benefits of Australia PR?

Some of the benefits for an Australian Permanent Resident are as follows:

 

Work: Once an applicant gets the PR status, they have full rights to work in any field or industry of their choice, except in the armed forces or any form of defence and public service.
 

Stay: Although Australian PR expires after 5 years, the visa holder can renew it for another 5 years before it expires and can stay in the country indefinitely.

 

Sponsorship: One can sponsor their relatives, such as spouse, children, and parents etc. while they are having the Australian PR status.

 

Medical: Healthcare is provided to the permanent residents under the Australia’s Medicare Scheme. Australia’s healthcare system is one of the best in the world.

 

Social Welfare:  Assistant in social welfare aspects related to sickness, unemployment, and studies will be provided.

 

Education: An Australian PR holder can access free government primary and secondary education.

 

Student Loans: An Australian PR holder can avail of student loans through the Higher Education Loans Program (HELP) for higher education.

 

Citizenship: Permanent Residents can apply for citizenship once they have stayed for 4 years in Australia, with at least 1 year as a PR. Once a PR gets citizenship, they have the right to vote.

 

Children: Children who are born to the permanent residents in Australia get an Australian Citizenship.

 

Housing: Under the First Home Owners Grant (FHOG) an Australian Permanent Resident is granted an amount of $10,000 to purchase their first house, apartment, unit, townhouse or any property that is estimated to be under the value of below $750,000.
