Australia is a prominent study overseas destination for international students from all over the world. Many of the universities in Australia feature in the QS World University Rankings 2020. Let us see here as to which are the top universities in Australia in 2020.

According to the official statistics by the Australian Government’s Department of Education, in October 2019, there were about 738,107 international students in Australia. This was a 10% increase over the total number of international students in Australia in October 2018.

Australia is said to be the 3rd most popular destination for international students. While the US remains the leader where it comes to getting the most number of overseas students, the UK is at the second place. Australia is expected to soon overtake the UK and claim the second spot. With the uncertainty surrounding the impending Brexit, this might well prove to be true.

As per the U21 Ranking of National Higher Education Systems 2019 by Universitas 21, Australia ranks at #8 in the Overall U21 2019 Ranking. The Report is a presentation of the annual rankings of the national systems of higher education undertaken under the auspices of the Universitas 21 group of universities. 50 national systems of higher education across the continents are evaluated in 24 indicators.

Australia is a leader in global higher education. With 22,000+ courses in 1,100 institutions, Australia has an outstanding higher education system.

Moreover, Australia also offers many Australia Awards scholarships to students from all over the world. For 2020, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) will be offering around 1,982 scholarships and short courses to individuals from about 50 developing countries at a budget amounting to AUD 280 million.
