To strengthen humanities research, it also houses three centers: the Center for the Study of Language and Society, the Center for Cultural Studies, and the Center for Global Studies, fostering interdisciplinary learning and global engagement.

Unique Features:

  • It houses five National Centres of Competence in Research.
  • It encourages interdisciplinary studies, and for this very purpose, it has set up ten strategic centers. They are the Albert Einstein Center for Fundamental Physics, ARTORG Center for Biomedical Engineering Research, Bern Center for Precision Medicine (BCPM), Centre for Development and Environment, Center of Competence for Public Management, Center for Regional Economic Development, Center for Space and Habitability, Multidisciplinary Center for Infectious Diseases (MCID), World Trade Institute (WTI), and Oeschger Centre for Climate Change Research (OCCR).
  1. Student Life:Within the University of Bern, there are plenty of facilities for sports and recreation in and around the campus, like tennis courts, swimming pools, gyms, student clubs, bars, theatres, and restaurants.
  2. Admission Process:
  • To gain admission to a master's program, you need to have a university degree that is recognized and is of at least three years duration.
  • To get admission into a Ph.D. program, you must have a master's degree or an equivalent university degree and also need to meet other requirements of the relevant graduate school or faculty.
