Science@Leuven Scholarships for International Students

The number of scholarships offered: Up to €12,000 for one year to cover tuition fees, insurance, and basic health insurance for full-time international students from any part of the world wanting to pursue graduation (MS) at the KU Leuven Faculty of Science.

What are the Science@Leuven Scholarships?

The Science@Leuven Scholarships for International Students at the KU Leuven Faculty of Science, Belgium, is granted to outstanding students who wish to pursue a Master of Astronomy and Astrophysics, Master of Biophysics, Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Master of Biology, Master of Chemistry, Master of Geography, Master of Mathematics, Master of Physics, Master of Statistics and Data Science, and Master of Sustainable Development (ICP).

Who can apply for the Science@Leuven Scholarships?

Foreign students from all over the world who enroll in bachelor's programs at the University of Toronto are eligible for the Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship Program. 

Eligibility Criteria for the Science@Leuven Scholarships

International students must meet the following criteria: 

  • Have never studied or worked at the University of Leuven before,
  • Have a bachelor's degree from an international university that allows them entry to MS programs,
  • Should never have obtained a master's degree/PhD,
  • Have excellent grades during their training,
  • Must be fluent in English (with a minimum TOEFL iBT score of 94 and minimum scores of 19 for reading, 19 for speaking, 21 for writing, and 18 for listening) or have a minimum IELTS score of 7 overall, with minimum scores of 6.5 for reading, 6 for speaking, 6 for writing, and 6 for listening.
  • Must show strong motivation to So MS program at the KU Leuven's Faculty of Science  
  • Must have two letters of reference (LORs) from globally recognized professors,
  • Must be willing to be ambassadors for the programs.

How does one apply globally to the Science@Leuven Scholarships?

Eligible applicants for the scholarship must follow the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: Apply for the chosen master's program through KU Leuven's application tool. Upload a screenshot demonstrating that you have successfully submitted the admissions application when registering on the scholarship's website.

Step 2: Scholarships will only be considered for applications that have been submitted before February 15.
