Australia Finance Jobs and salaries on the rise

Australia Finance jobs and salaries are on the rise as per the latest report from Michael Page the recruitment firm. The demand for quality Finance and Accounting professionals is increasing. These are expected to offer value-added services to Finance teams and lead finance transformation in Australia.

 

The 2019 Australia Salary Benchmark has revealed that there has been 21% hike in the number of postings for Finance and Accounting jobs. This is in the past 12 months. The average salaries for these professionals have increased by around 5% to10%.

 

The top sectors in Australia recruiting F&A roles are:

• Public Sector
• Property and Construction
• Industrial and Manufacturing
• Healthcare and Pharmaceutical
• Fast-moving Consumer goods and Retail

Sung Ho Lee said that there has been an increasing demand for cost savings in Australia after the global financial crisis. He is the Michael Page Australia’s Director of Sales, Legal, and Finance. It was witnessed that several finance teams moved their finance functions to different locations in Asia. It was usually the more transactional teams, he added.

 

Roles such as Head of Transformation and Finance Project Manager are in huge demand. This is for supporting the transformation of finance functions. The average salaries are $145,000 and 113,000 respectively, as quoted by the FM Magazine.

 

There is much transformation and it is very different to be very honest said, Lee. It includes making month-end efficient and quick and decreasing the volume of management reporting. It is also inclusive of creating a data ambiance from which the executive team cam draw insights, added Lee.

 

The expectations of employers in Australia are also changing due to off-shoring and automation. Australian companies now expect Finance professionals to perform higher-level functions than previously. This includes offering analysis for decision making along with conventional tasks of financial reports. It is reflected by trending skills in job descriptions for Australia Finance Jobs. The buzzwords include Analytical Skills, Big Data, and Business Partnering.
