The officials also elaborated that the single visa for Association of Southeast Asian Nations member nations will be implemented at the earliest in 2017. Wanda Teo, the Tourism Secretary of Philippines has said that it is proposed to a have a single visa for the ASEAN nations for overseas travelers across the globe that arrive at the ASEAN nations. They will be able to stay longer in the ASEAN nations, added the Secretary. He was speaking at the summit of stakeholders’ that was held in Bangkok, quotes News ABS-CBN. Tourism Minister of Thailand Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul has said that in spite of certain policy differences, ASEAN would adopt a single visa policy on the lines of European Union. He added that though it is not easy to formulate the single visas, a single visa committee is working to give final shape to them. Arief Yahya the Tourism Minister of Indonesia has said that a single visa would facilitate to accentuate the integration of ASEAN. He also added that Indonesia is ready to promote Singapore as the hub for aviation provided Singapore also promotes the tourist destinations in Indonesia.
