Sharjah Tourism and Commerce Development Authority will give more focus to Indian Family and School groups in 2018 to increase their arrivals. It will also give attention to enhance their overnight stays in Sharjah. The agency will also be investing in Digital Marketing to enhance its reach to the end tourists.
Sharjah is one amongst the 7 emirates of the UAE. Sharjah Tourism and Commerce Development Authority will be stressing on the educational, cultural and other aspects. This is to promote Sharjah as a unique destination in the UAE, as quoted by the Travelbizmonitor.
Sharjah Tourism and Commerce Development Authority Chairman Khalid Jasim Al Midfa said that the agency has been able to develop good ties with travel trade in India. This is after the commencement of promotional measures in 2014. He added that he is hopeful that the ties will be leveraged to increase the numbers of visitors and market share.
138,000 Indian guests were received by hotels in Sharjah in 2017 informed Midfa. This is an increase of 15% when compared with 2016. The 7 emirates of the UAE are harmonious and at the same time, the individual emirate has distinct offerings for tourism.
Sharjah is a cultural and family destination said the Chairman of SCTDA. It has discovery centers, waterfront areas, conservancy areas, and museum, he added. Regarding the strategies for marketing, he said that the joint trade promotions will be continued with the travel trade in the market. The latest strategy will pay attention to Digital Marketing so as to get in touch with the right audience.
