From November, the U.S. lifts travel ban for fully vaccinated Indian travelers

The U.S. lifted the travel ban for fully vaccinated Indian travelers from the beginning of November 2021.  This will be undertaken by a new international travel system. According to U.S. officials, "this new system lifts the travel ban on countries like India.  Travelers from India who are fully vaccinated can now travel to the U.S. with proof of their vaccination before they start flying to the United States." In early 2020, all the countries, including the U.S., have banned travelers from entering the borders, with the advent of the novel coronavirus pandemic.

	"Today we're announcing a new international air travel system. This new system includes strict protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19 from passengers flying into the United States, protecting Americans and making international air travel safer," White House COVID-19 Response Coordinator Jeff Zients told reporters during a virtual news conference

  The United States has developed a new international air travel system under the guidance of both science and public health. This system enhances both the safety of American residents as well as international air travel. Travelers flying to the U.S. must be fully vaccinated and need to show proof of vaccination before boarding to the U.S. This new international air travel system will move with a much stricter global system from November even though it lifts up travel ban for countries like India, Brazil, United Kingdom, China, Iran, and South Africa. Almost six billion COVID-19 vaccines were administered globally. The U.S. is further leading to get more vaccine shots across the world. It believes that vaccine is the best line of defense against COVID, and these are effective against Delta variants also. These vaccination shots are the best tool for people to keep safe and mostly in preventing the spread of the virus. In addition to this, a new international air travel system will acquire:

• Proven disease mitigation strategies
• Enhanced testing contact tracing
• Masking

Fully vaccinated travelers to the U.S. needs to complete pre-departure testing within three days prior to departure. They also need to show the proof of negative tests. Besides, all these unvaccinated Americans returning to the U.S. are subjected to stricter testing requirements. They need to get tested within one day of departure and will be required to test again post their arrival.

In the next, CDC will start issuing a contact tracing order requiring airlines to collect current information from each US bound traveler including their phone number and email address. This will enable CDC and state and local public health officials to follow up with inbound travelers, and those around them as someone has potentially been exposed to COVID-19 or other pathogens.

  This improved contact tracing system will definitely help strengthen the U.S. public health surveillance system against future threats and fight against the virus.
