A report of Student and Exchange Visitor Program has confirmed this fact and also revealed that 72 percent of the foreign students studying in the universities of the United States come from the Asian countries. The other countries from where students mostly originate are China, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Canada, Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam, Mexico and Brazil.
Having said that, India is at the top of the list of countries from where foreign students originate with as many as 31.9 percent of them coming from here. India is followed by Vietnam in this list with 25.9 percent of them originating from this country. In addition to this, 24 percent of the F&M students come from India while 17 percent are from China.
India tops the list

The universities that host the most number of students from different parts of the world include The University of Southern California, New York University, Columbia University, the University of Illinois and Purdue University. The U.S currently hosts 1.5 million international students.
These are the ones with an F&M visa who can study only in those universities that are certified by SEVP. Such students require to apply for a student visa after receiving a letter of acceptance from these universities.
