59 Australia jobs have been added by the Department of Home Affairs through the latest Regional Occupation List effective from March 18, 2018. The new ROL is applicable for Employer-Sponsored Subclass 482 visas and Territory and State Sponsored Subclass 489 visas.
The latest ROL announced by the DHA is the third list of qualified occupations apart from the 2 lists STOL and MLTSSL, as quoted by the Sydney Morning Herald. The list is nevertheless applicable for only the applicants of Territory and State Sponsored Subclass 489 visas. Some of the Australia jobs added through the new ROL are also available for the freshly launched Australia TSS visas.
The launching of the new Regional Occupation List by the Department of Home Affairs has brought back several occupations that are now available for the Subclass 489 visas. The DHA had made clear its serious intentions to divert the immigrants to the low population or Regional areas of Australia. This decision gives a head start to that objective of the DHA.
A regional zone must on the other hand not be understood to be an underdeveloped or backward region. The Regional areas in Australia are specifically classified as those target areas with low population.
Immigrants, as well as students, arrive in Australia through the Subclass 190 and 189 visas. They chiefly arrive at urban cities such as Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne. These cities are also getting cluttered owing to this reason.
The Subclass 489 visas intend to distribute the immigrants evenly to other Australian areas through a comprehensive list of occupations. This is for those immigrants who intend to settle outside the chief metros of Australia. Upon residing and working for 2 years in the Regional area, the individual is at liberty to live anywhere in Australia including chief metro cities.
