Amazon opens up 1,800 new jobs in Canada

As per an official Press Release by Amazon Canada, Amazon will be hiring “1,800 new corporate and tech employees in Canada in 2021”.

The new hires by Amazon in Canada would be supporting –

• Amazon Advertising
• Alexa
• AWS
• Retail and Operations technology

These teams will be working towards growing the Amazon workforce at all Canadian corporate locations, including Vancouver and Toronto Tech Hubs.

According to the Press Release by Amazon Canada, “The new hires mark the latest milestone as the company continues to invest to meet customer demand and pursue a long-term mission to be Earth's Best Employer.”

Currently, Amazon has over 1,500 positions open. These include for the following –

• Cloud computing solutions architects,
• Data engineers,
• Program managers,
• Sales and marketing executives,
• Software development engineers,
• Software development managers,
• Senior software development engineers, and
• Senior software development managers.

As per Jesse Dougherty, Amazon VP and Vancouver site lead, “Amazon is proud to create good jobs that provide opportunities for employees to develop new skills and grow their careers while innovating on behalf of customers.”
