New Zealand, an island in the southwest Pacific Ocean, has become one of the most preferred destinations for Indian students wanting to pursue higher education in the recent past. Apart from scenic backdrops, top-class infrastructure and opportunities that it offers, its educational system is considered to be among the best in the world.

The tuition fee is also not very expensive and is said to be at par with many universities in India.

In addition, foreign students are allowed to work while they Study in New Zealand, which also offers them a one-year job search visa after they have completed their studies. Because the medium of instruction is English, Indians find it easy to get admitted there.

According to NDTV.com, this Australasian county is home to more than five universities, which figure in the QS world ranking of the top 500 universities across the globe.

As per the QS World ranking 2018, the top five New Zealand universities are The University of Auckland, University of Otago, and University of Canterbury, Victoria University of Wellington and University of Waikato.

To be eligible for an undergraduate program, one should have passed the secondary school examination. On the other hand, a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university in India is the eligibility requirement for a post-graduate course.

That apart, Indian students need to demonstrate that they are adequately proficient in English by getting a reasonable score in IELTS, iBT (Internet-based TOEFL), paper-based TOEFL, Advanced (CAE) or Proficiency (CPE) in English, Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic or Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB)

Students have to individually apply for each of the universities. The applications for the academic year 2018 will be accepted until November 2017.
