You are determined to do well in your GMAT exam and have planned your preparation strategy right from following a well-planned study schedule to practicing extensively for the exam. Apart from this what are the things you can do to take your preparation to the next level and ensure success in the exam. Here are some secrets we would like to share with you.
The GMAT is not intended to test your skills in grammar or mathematics. It is intended to test your skills in logical thinking and executive reasoning, skills you use every day, and those you already have.
Build your confidence. Practice and training will go a long way to help with your confidence (by which we mean not only tests, but also more realistic planning of your means of getting to the test centre and your timetable on the day of the test).
What is important is to be mindful of your strengths and weaknesses, what you can fix easily, and what you can't-and maybe just skip. It is both a time and score killer to waste time trying to solve something you end up guessing at.
The people who developed the GMAT have not done so to check whether all the questions can be answered. There would not be a time limit if they did, and it would not be adaptive. Provided enough time, almost any question could possibly be answered by most of us. The GMAT is designed to test decision making. Can you decide when a topic is too hard or too time-consuming and then decide to move on? Can you know whether the advantage of answering potential questions is greater than that of skipping it?
The GMAT will almost always give you an alternative that addresses a different question. And we sometimes choose the wrong one in our hurry to answer. They will probably have the perimeter as a response if they ask you about the area. By nature, this is how it is designed. They assess your attention to detail and your ability to remain on an assignment.
