PTE

PTE Academic will be accepted as proof of English language proficiency for the final remaining visas in Australia: Temporary Work (457).

Beginning November 2016, PTE Academic is being accepted by the Australian Government’s DIBP (Department of Immigration and Border Protection) for all visas except 457.  Since then, the number of PTE Academic test takers in Australia and India has soared, with the most of the test takers citing migration as a skilled worker to Australia as their main objective for taking the exam.

We are pleased to state that that PTE Academic hereafter can be used for all Australian visas and at all of the Australian universities.

PTE ACADEMIC WORKING WITH AUSTRALIA AID:

PTE Academic by partnering with the Philippines Australia Human Resource and Organizational Development Facility (PAHRODF) has successfully been delivering customized test sessions for students applying for the reputed Australia Awards Scholarship program.

The international development scholarship programs of the Australian Government, the Australia Awards Scholarships are managed by Australia Aid and have been conceived to develop leadership capabilities and build long-lasting links between Australia and its partner countries.

The ability of PTE Academic to come up with customized test sessions to be applicable to the Australia Awards Scholarship applicants, in addition to the test’s precise scoring and quick delivery of results, were identified as the major factors behind the selection of using PTE Academic.

PTE News

International education has gained traction among Indian students and India currently is ranked the second largest market for PTE, only next to China. Apart from these two markets, PTE is also looking at countries, such as Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, which are emerging major markets for PTE Academic.

About 200,000 students are appearing for these tests every year in India for higher studies as well as for immigration. With the Indian market looking up, a huge demand is expected to be present here for these tests.

AUSTRALIA WELCOMES NURSES AND MIDWIVES:

Nurses and midwives from all over the world can apply for over 16,000 positions to be filled by skilled foreigners over the next one year, as occupational caps released by the DIBP (Department of Immigration and Border Protection) show.

Precisely 16,346 nurse and midwifery positions are available for people who want to migrate to Australia this financial year – a high number of skilled workers, which are in demand in Australia, as per Pearson Australia Managing Director, David Barnett.

“Experts say we need more nurses and midwives in our hospitals and clinics, and we have seen the industry step up and get the policy settings right to meet demand,” he said.

Mr Barnett hailed the ANMAC’s (Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council) decision to include the Pearson Test of English Academic to be a recognized language test for nurses and midwives wanting to apply for a migration skills assessment from 1 July 2016.

“For many years’ applicants from non-English speaking countries, such as India, China, the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore, have found difficulty in meeting the English language standards of the ANMAC as they were limited in their choice of tests to prove their language proficiency,” Mr Barnett said.

“While our test is academically challenging, it provides a simple and seamless experience for the user, which makes this process less stressful for applicants and assessors.”

“Pearson looks forward to assisting Australian health employers with recruiting skilled nurses to their workforce.”

ANMAC’s requirements are: 1. Identity proof

  1. Proficiency of English language
  2. Equivalent education
  3. Professional practice
  4. Fitness to practice

Applicants need to score at least 65 in an overall PTE Academic AND at least a score of 65 in each of the four test skills –reading, listening, writing and speaking.
