Indian students who want to study in the Netherlands can apply for several scholarships offered by the government, universities, and other organizations. These scholarships help cover tuition fees, living costs, or both. They are mainly given to students with strong academic results, good leadership skills, and clear study goals. Holland Scholarship
For non-EEA students applying for Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees. Offers €5,000 for the first year of study.
Orange Tulip Scholarship (OTS)
Available only for Indian students. Covers partial or full tuition fees depending on the university.
Leiden University Excellence Scholarship (LExS)
For outstanding non-EEA Master’s students. Covers €10,000 to full tuition fees.
TU Delft Excellence Scholarships (Justus & Louise van Effen)
For high-performing international Master’s students. Covers full tuition and living expenses.
University of Twente Scholarships (UTS)
For excellent non-EU/EEA Master’s students. Awards between €3,000 and €22,000 per year.
Maastricht University High Potential Scholarship
Offers around €30,000, covering tuition and living costs for top Master’s students.
University of Amsterdam Merit Scholarship
For non-EU/EEA Master’s students. Offers €2,000 – €25,000 depending on the course.
VU Fellowship Programme (VUFP)
For non-EEA Master’s students at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Covers full or partial tuition fees.
Erasmus+ / Erasmus Mundus Scholarships
For students applying to joint Master’s programs in Europe, including Dutch universities. Covers tuition, travel, and living costs.
Step 1: Choose your program (Bachelor’s or Master’s) and university in the Netherlands.
Step 2: Check what scholarships are available for your course and nationality.
Step 3: Prepare your documents – academic transcripts, IELTS/TOEFL score, Statement of Purpose (SOP), and Letters of Recommendation (LORs).
Step 4: Apply for the scholarship directly on the university or scholarship website before the deadline.
Step 5: Attend interviews (if required) and wait for the result.
Step 6: Once selected, accept the award and continue with your visa application.
