Malaysia Visa

Malaysia is an enticing and pocket-friendly tourist destination for most Indians. Newly wed couples, film crews, business people and student groups often make up the majority of the tourists visiting this Southeast Asian nation. In the year 2015, a staggering number of Indian tourists – 7, 22,141 – visited Malaysia, making Indians the 6th highest tourist group amongst inbound tourists from all countries to Malaysia.

Recognising India’s potential to be a major contributor to Malaysian tourism economy, the Malaysian government has introduced Electronic Travel Authorization Visa (e-visa) for a short visit to Malaysia.

In a press release, the director of Tourism Malaysia, Mohd. Hafiz stated that they were making repeated attempts to ease travel to Malaysia as much as possible, and e-visa was a step towards achieving that. She felt confident that loosening the visa process would make more Indians look at Malaysia as a preferred tourist destination.

Indians residing in India can avail an e-visa within 24-48 hours, costing approximately Rs.3000 with an extended validity period of three months. The procedure has been simplified for hassle-free processing.

Tourism authorities of many popular travel destinations are targeting Indian travellers now as their inflow has been noticeably increasing in the recent past. India's outbound travel industry foresees the number of Indians travelling overseas, growing rapidly at 15 to 20 % per year to reach 50 million by 2020.

Malaysian Tourism boasts of their calendar packed with events and activities throughout the year, promising something new to discover in every visit, making Malaysia a destination for repeated visits.

Meta-description: Malaysia is an alluring and cheap tourist destination for many Indians, with newly wed couples, film crews, businesspersons and students wishing to travel there.
